Kentec protects new agrochemical facility
Kentec fire control panels are central to the design, installation and commissioning of a new fire detection and alarm system in a new purpose-built 44,000 sq ft UK production facility for agrochemical insecticide developer and distributor, Yanco Ltd.
The company, which has recently moved production of its Rambo range of insecticide paper products to the UK, is currently producing 1 million products a week at the new Speke, South Liverpool facility, with the potential to triple this figure within the next 18 months.
The new fire detection and alarm system installation, designed, installed and commissioned by Firesec comprises of a Kentec Syncro 2 Loop fire control panel complete with on-board printer running approximately 200 Apollo XP95 devices and using Apollo open protocol communications.
Due to the nature of the building and the highly explosive atmosphere, there was also a requirement to install intrinsically safe detection in parts of the production facility. Firesec’s solution utilized Apollo XP IS equipment directly controlled by the Kentec Syncro panel.
