Kentec chosen to defend at West Brom FC
West Bromwich Albion has been playing at the Hawthorns for more than 100 years - the first Football League ground to be built in the 20th Century. In those 100 years the ground has been regularly improved, the latest being the £7.5 million East Stand that has boosted the ground's capacity to over 27,000.
A recent upgrade of the stadium's automatic fire detection system that has included areas such as back office areas, stores and changing rooms, has been successfully completed by fire installation specialists Argus Services Ltd using fire system control panels from Kentec, the UK's leading independent manufacturer of fire detection and alarm control panels.
The system comprises four Kentec Syncro panels with the system integrated to shut-downs, shutters and other safeguards, and is supported by Apollo's open protocol fire data communications. Over 700 Apollo XP95 devices have been installed, including interfaces, detectors, addressable sounders and manual call points. Almost 500 of these Apollo devices are smoke sensors.
A spokesman for Argus Services says, 'We have been installing Syncro panels for the last six to seven years which have proved to be a great success. Kentec panels and Apollo devices support our aim to create an open protocol system that ensures optimum detection whilst minimising the potential for unwanted alarms.'
