Turkey's Ministry of Industry and Trade, one of the most important governmental bodies, is protected by Hochiki and Kentec - the world leaders in fire detection and alarm control equipment.
Compliance with EN 54 and graphical user interface were foremost in designing the fire and gas alarm system for the building. Syncro Guide program was used for graphical monitoring on PC.
A total of 872 addressable devices were installed in the building, the AutoCAD plans of which were transferred to the Syncro Guide, processed and organised so that a comprehensive graphical interface was designed for simple and reliable monitoring.
Two 4-loop Kentec panels, operating in a network, provide fire alarm control for the main building; the one 2-loop panel, previously installed in the neighbouring recreation facility of the ministry, was added to the newly established network.
Offices and corridors were equipped with 783 photo-electric smoke detectors (ALG-E), kitchens and boiler room with 6 heat detectors (ACB-E), and 61 manual call points (MCP-E) were installed on exit routes.
The building has 10 floors; every 2 of which were equipped with CHQ-B sounder modules for providing an audio warning system. The purpose of such configuration was activating sounder modules on floor basis to prevent panic in the whole building on fire event.
Gas detectors provide gas safety for kitchens and boiler room. Gas alarm signals are transmitted via CHQ-S switch monitor modules, thus enabling addressable solution for gas detection.
The CHQ-S modules also monitor 3 extinguishant control panels installed in IT department and 3 other extinguishant control panels in parking area outside the main building.
The system is installed by Mavili Elektronik AS based in Istanbul, Turkey, who is the Turkish distributor of Hochiki Europe.
