Syncro "EN" panel amendments

The Syncro control panel has been available for some time as a BSI approved and Kitemarked product.
We are now changing our standard production model of the Syncro panel to the "EN" version and will supply this version panel by default, unless instructed otherwise.

The "EN" version has some minor, yet significant differences over the current Syncro control panels.
These differences include slight revisions to the menu structure, minor changes to the reporting of events and also some changes to the panel construction. The latter includes the addition of a "Write Enable" switch to protect the panel configuration memory from accidental amendments.

It should be stressed that the overall look and feel of the panel is very similar to the existing product and the current configuration software remains compatible with the EN version panels.

Syncro "EN" panel network compatibility

Because of the additional features provided in the menu structures and due to the introduction of the write enable switch to the panel hardware, there are some compatibility issues when connecting the EN Syncro control panel onto an existing network.

It is not permitted to "downgrade" the firmware version installed in the EN range of panels, as this will affect certification compliance.
Therefore to allow the EN panels to be connected to a network with the current Syncro panels, it will be necessary to upgrade the firmware in all "non EN" panels on the network.
