Events Hub

Thank you for visiting us in Glasgow!
The beginning of May saw the first Fire Safety Scotland show which is part of the Scotland Works series. The show was held in one of Glasgow’s top venues, the SEC which is close to the River Clyde and the BBC Scotland studios.

Kentec exhibited for the full two days of the show and we made quite an impact with our stand! On show we had our latest extinguishant panel, the Syncro XT+ which is a Multi-Area addressable extinguishant solution. Our eagerly anticipated Taktis panel was centre stage, the innovative fully touchscreen up to 16 loop addressable solution. Finally we had our ever popular Syncro AS, our two loop analogue addressable solution.

The team at the show was made up of Wayne Marston, Head of Sales UK, Charlotte Eames who is our Events & Marketing Coordinator and we were joined by our newest Business Development Manager for Northern U.K, Richard Day. Richard who joined towards the end of April, enjoyed meeting for the first time current and potential customers as he is now taking over this sales area territory. Our newly appointed Director of Sales and Marketing, Stephen Hynes also joined us for the show and was enthusiastic to meet some of our Northern U.K. customers.

We would like to thank everyone who took time out of their schedule to visit us at the show, it was great to see you all.

Kentec checks-in at Belfast’s iconic Ten Square hotel development

A £60m expansion of Belfast’s leading boutique hotel is being protected by a new and upgraded fire safety system that has Kentec’s sector leading control panel technology at its heart.

Phase one of Ten Square Hotel Belfast’s impressive 50-bedroom extension was completed in December 2016, with work on the whole project set to finish later this year. This first phase expansion has also added the new Linenhall Business Centre with conferencing, function rooms and events space. The hotel development’s second phase will see a 66-bedroom expansion on the other side of the original hotel building into the former Scottish Amicable Building on Donegall Square to include a spa and gym, and will bring the hotel’s bedroom capacity to over 140.

Specialised Fire & Security supplied and installed a new, networked fire safety system for the new areas of the building whilst also upgrading the hotel’s existing fire system, which involved replacing the existing control panel and integrating the old system into the new one.

John Moore, Specialised Fire & Security’s Contracts Director explains “We were very pleased to be able to specify Kentec Syncro fire safety control panels for both the new and upgraded parts of the fire safety system. This was not a straight forward installation, as the Kentec panels had to communicate together to run two protocols on the same network of panels for Hochiki detectors installed on the new phase and Apollo detectors on the existing phase of the hotel.

We have worked with Kentec on a number of projects and know that we can rely on their products to deliver the performance and reliability critical life-safety projects demand.”

Kentec’s flagship ‘open protocol’ Syncro series, recognized as one of the most powerful systems of its type on the market today, guarantees the very highest standards of performance, safety and reliability that such a leading edge research facility demands.

Kentec’s Syncro series of fire control panels use the most advanced microprocessor technology to provide a control system of extremely high integrity. Syncro can be configured to suit all types of system from the most simple to the highly complex. Its fully integrated and secure network provides an intelligent interface for building control.
