Kentec gets UK Government Seal of Approval

Kentec Electronics has been chosen to represent UK manufacturing alongside The Chancellor of the Exchequer, The Rt Hon Philip Hammond in the recently published Parliamentary Review 2015-16.  The Review looks back at the major events of the last year that influence the nation and features a small number of outstanding organisations recognising industry best practice and companies that personify Britain as one of the fastest growing advanced economies in the world.

The main aim of The Review is to showcase best practice as a learning tool to the public and private sector, with this edition aimed particularly at leading policymakers and executives within Manufacturing.

Kentec’s success certainly mirrors The Review’s sentiments; with demand for the company’s life safety control systems ever increasing and Kentec’s phenomenal growth in international markets means it is a truly global supplier. Kentec exports control equipment to over 80 countries.
Kentec’s largest markets, after the UK, are the USA and the Middle East, with a sales split of approximately 45% domestic and 55% export markets. Constant investment enables the company to fulfil this export demand with the company experiencing record growth.

At the heart of Kentec’s success is the philosophy of in-house research and development, state-of-the-art manufacturing and continuous investment. Significant recent expansion of the manufacturing facility in Dartford, Kent, to ensure quality and the capability to meet customer requirements, is reflected in impressive production efficiencies.

Jonathan Gilbert, Kentec’s General Manager, Sales and Marketing, says: ‘The factory now manufactures up to 50% more panels each month than it was doing only a year ago. We are proud to be a complete British manufacturer,’ Jonathan continues, ‘with our Dartford factory manufacturing all the fire panels and ancillaries that Kentec supply. Kentec manufactures products approved to the European EN54 and United States NFPA standards as well as multiple other country and marine standards, with our products’ interfaces operative in many different languages.’

Kentec’s management systems are ISO 9001:2008 approved and the company’s policy for environmental awareness was officially recognized in 2007 when Kentec gained the ISO 14001 certification from BSI. In 2008 Kentec was very proud to be awarded the Royal Warrant of Appointment by Her Majesty the Queen.

A flying visit for Kentec in Cosford

The next FIM show will be held on Wednesday 12th October at RAF Museum Cosford, Shropshire. The FIM show gives companies within the fire industry a chance to showcase their products within one place. It has a more intimate feel than the larger exhibitions such as Intersec because this just
allows companies to focus on their own industry instead of being in the vicinity of others. The latest in fire technology is showcased at FIM and Kentec are proud to show off their market leading technologies. As FIM is held in Cosford this time around, here are a few small facts about the small English village.

Kentecís Syncro protects leading Cambridge biology research facility

A new life safety system based around Kentec’s Syncro fire alarm control panel technology has been installed at a new biology laboratory facility - part of the Babraham Research Campus Cambridge, considered to be the UK’s leading campus that supports early-stage bioscience enterprise.

The more integrated research environment provided by the new buildings will bring the Institute’s computational biologists into closer proximity with the established programmes developing bioscience therapies and technologies to treat human disease.

The open protocol system, supplied and installed by Leader Systems, was designed around a six-loop Kentec Syncro AS analogue addressable fire control panel incorporating approximately 400 addressable devices and 250 loop driven sounders, to provide a complete building system solution with flexible cause and effect capabilities.

Kentec’s flagship ‘open protocol’ Syncro series, recognized as one of the most powerful systems of its type on the market today, guarantees the very highest standards of performance, safety and reliability that such a leading edge research facility demands.
