Kentec at Essen

Kentec was one of 1,045 exhibitors at September’s bi-annual Security exhibition in Essen, Germany. The event was a chance to see our extensive range of products, including the new and soon to be released Taktis, Syncro Marine products, and a range of extinguishant panels.   The event attracted over 40,000 visitors from all over the fire industry and proved a great opportunity for us to make many great connections. If you weren’t one of those who attended and would like to know more about the products displayed at the show, please see our website for more information.

Colour Crazy

Did you know all of our panels can come in a variety of different colours? At the recent Security Essen show, we displayed a colour chart which showcased only a few of the colours we have on offer. Thanks to our committed specials team and powder coating departments who will custom design your panel, you can choose a colour to suit your needs.

Extinguishant Coincidence Unit (ECU) Hybrid Addressable Solution

Some fire suppression applications require a more sophisticated set up with the greater flexibility that Analogue Addressable detectors provide.

A greater choice of detectors, as well as every single detector contributing to a coincidence scenario, may be an important consideration.

Kentec Electronics Ltd have always been at the forefront of Fire Suppression panel technology, this continues with the on-going development and approval certification process of the Syncro XT+ (plus) range to EN12094-1, EN54-2 & EN54-4. This panel will be a true multi area all addressable extinguishant panel.

In the meantime what are the options? The creation of a combined Hybrid Analogue Addressable Detection panel approved to EN54-2/4 interfaced to a conventional EN12094-1 approved conventionally wired Sigma XT+ Extinguishant Control Unit (ECU) K21001H2.

The ECU is much like a conventional Extinguishant panel, though rather than having detection zones, it has two monitored inputs triggered from either a panel, I/O or a loop relay programmed in cause and effect.

Connected in a manner as per the example below.

Description: cid:image001.png@01CFE187.65C30D30

Using loop relays, perhaps with inputs allows a number of alarm signals to be monitored back from the ECU to the addressable system.

Each ECU requiring two relays, input 1 being 1 stage trigger from any device and input 2 being second stage trigger from all the devices on a coincidence (any two) basis. ECU output signals can be increased by the addition of a K588 Sigma XT Ancillary relay card.

For applications where the enclosures are local to each other, space could be saved by the use of our K547 Syncro 8 way relay card and the re-programming of the Syncro AS five pre-programmed inputs.

First stage alarm sounders can be wired both on the loop and from the first stage ECU sounder circuit, with second stage sounders wired from the ECU.

Whichever you choose, the solution comprises of approved, tried and tested CE certified products that can be mixed, matched and extended to provide a flexible solution to your Fire Suppression Systems needs.
