Dressing up for the Royal Jubilee!

To mark the Royal Diamond Jubilee, we have dressed up a Sigma CP-A panel in the union jack flag in honour of her Royal Majesty the Queen reaching 60 years on the throne.

The popular AlarmSense compatible Sigma CP-A 2, 4 and 8 zone fire alarm control and indicating panels are designed to deliver significant time and cost savings, compared with standard four-wire conventional systems, through greatly reduced cabling and installation requirements.
The AlarmSense range is easily configurable to meet customer specific or site requirements and allows Apollo Alarmsense devices, including smoke and heat detectors, call points, base sounders, base sounder/beacons and relay units, to be wired to the same pair of cables, with rapid system configuration for common, zonal or two-stage alarm by simply setting one of the panels configuration options as well as allowing delays to sounder outputs.

All control panels have an integral, mains powered battery charger and power supply compliant with the requirements of BS EN54-4.

False alarm management is also very efficient, with alarm verification via the general and local alarm facility on AlarmSense sounders and beacons, which is particularly useful in Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMO) such as student accommodation or nursing homes. The panel can also support up to seven repeater units making it scalable for small or larger installations.

End of an Era…

17 years on from its initial launch we are sad to have to report that we will discontinue production of our K2-01 extinguishant release control panel. First introduced in 1995 the K2-01 was our flag ship releasing panel product and over a ten year period was the market leading extinguishant control panel. K2-01 was superseded in 2005 by our Sigma XT model. At its peak we sold 6000 K2-01 panels a year and total production exceeded 25,000 units, however today production has been reduced to only a handful each year compared with the Sigma XT panels.

We are forced to stop production due to component obsolescence and we have been presented with a “last time buy” opportunity for the components involved. We intend to buy enough stock to be able to support the product in the market for at least another 5 years but we will be unable to sell new K2-01 panels from the 1st July this year. If you have or likely to have a requirement for K2-01 product after June you will be required to place orders before 30th July 2012.

We do intend to carry on supporting the product in the field and as mentioned we have taken steps to secure materials to allow us to do this until at least mid 2017 and at current demand levels for spares we expect this to be extended beyond this time frame.

Most of you will have already used our Sigma XT range of extinguishant control panels and will recognise the “XT” provides superior capability and feature set than its predecessor. Currently the Sigma XT is selling at over 1000 per month and we continue to increase market share with the introduction last year of the UL/FM version the Sigma A-XT. For information on our full range of extinguishant releasing products including the Sigma XT+ which is the latest in the family to achieve EN12094-1 certificate please visit our web site www.kentec.co.uk or contact our sales team directly.
