Enhancements to Technical Support

At Kentec we appreciate that many of our customers have to work on some sites “out of hours”, to reduce any potential disruption to the buildings occupants. Typically this results in engineers on site in the evenings and weekends, when limited support is available.
In order to address this, we have previously increased our daily Technical Support hours from 08:30 to 17:30 from early 2010.

Following dialogue with some of our customers we are delighted announce that we are to further extend our technical support to include Saturday Mornings.  We will run a pilot scheme until the end of 2010 at which time we will review the scheme and based on customer use and general feedback we will consider making this a permanent service.

This new service will commence from September 11th 2010 when we will be further extending our Technical Support hours to include Saturday mornings, from 09:00 to 13:00.
Saturday technical support will be available on our normal office number (+44(0)1322 222121)  or by e-mail techsupport@kentec.co.uk.

To further enhance our Technical Support resources during normal office hours, our Northern Region Technical Support Engineer, David Hainsworth may now be contacted on our normal office number. When not on site directly supporting customers in the Northern Region, David joins the Technical Support team by providing telephone technical support to all customers.

Firex North is coming

Once again Kentec will be attending and exhibiting at Firex North which takes place in October at Manchester Central.

Why not visit us at stand C12, 27-28th October 2010. If you missed us at IFSEC back in May then now's a good opportunity to see what new products we have on display. Find out more in next month's In The Loop.

Extended range of Power Supplies

The Kentec EN54-4 approved and certified power supply range has been enhanced by the introduction of a number of “dual output path” variants.

Available as either 2.5A or 5.25A current capacity and in a number of different enclosures to compliment the Syncro and Sigma control panels, this range of power supplies have the model number prefix “KD” to distinguish them from their standard counterparts.

Independently fused and monitored, the dual power outputs are required when connecting to a fire alarm control panel mounted in a separate enclosure. The power supply should be connected by two separate cables, segregated by at least 300mm where possible, to conform to the requirements of EN54-4 clause 6.4 and BS5839-1 clause 12.2.2.m.

In the event of damage to one of the power cables between the power supply and the fire alarm control panel, the panel will continue to operate via the second power path ensuring system integrity is maintained.

The Kentec Syncro range of control panels are designed with isolated dual power inputs, to support the compliant connection of the KD series remote power supplies.
