Syncro ASM analogue addressable, fire control panels are now available from Kentec Electronics Limited with Lloyds Register type approval for a wide range of marine fire alarm system applications.

Compatible with the complete range of Apollo and the imminently available Hochiki Europe marine approved detection devices, Syncro ASM fire control panels can be networked to provide scalable fire alarm systems, suitable for many classes of vessel.

The large clear display, simple intuitive controls and compact, unobtrusive enclosure of Syncro ASM fire control panels have been popular with installers and users of land based fire systems for many years and are now set to become a favourite in the marine environment.

Feature rich with a 3 Amp power supply and highly configurable via the simple Windows® based, Loop Explorer configuration utility, Syncro ASM fire control panels are suitable for a wide range of marine fire alarm system applications.

Out with the old and in with the new!

We have just installed another automatic punch press machine. The Amada EM 2510 NT with a 45 station turret takes larger 2500 x 1250 sheet material than our original Amada machine. With better sheet handling, less tool changes and an overall faster operating speed the new Amada has increased capacity within our sheet metal fabrication plant by over 50%.

The EM2510 NY enables us to plan and produce our work not only quicker but with more “nesting” of different parts on one sheet, leading to even greater savings in our use of sheet steel. The World market for sheet steel has been in turmoil for over a year and we have seen the price increase by over 100% in that time. By utilising the superior speed, improved manufacturing techniques and taking into consideration our new investment also uses 50% less power than our original machine we have offset these costs and not had to pass them onto our customers.

Strengthening the Technical Support
and Software Testing Department

Martin Darby has joined Kentec as a Technical Support and Software Test Engineer. Martin has experience of component level fault finding on both electronic and electro-mechanical systems and has a background of field servicing, which provides a solid foundation for providing valuable technical support for customers.
In addition, Martin will be heavily involved in pre-release verification testing of control panel firmware and other software products, which is essential in providing timely release of scheduled firmware updates, to support new devices and product features.
