Kentec
and the Environment
Our longstanding commitment
and responsible attitude towards the company’s
impact upon the environment, has recently been
formalised by approval by BSI Management Systems
for registration to ISO 14001:2004, the internationally
recognized standard for Environmental Management
Systems.
The ISO14001 Environmental Management System
involves identifying aspects of the business
that impact upon the environment, ensuring legal
compliance, producing objectives for continuing
improvement and putting in place management
review and monitoring procedures to ensure that
objectives are achieved.
BSI Management Systems auditors
carried out a thorough audit of manufacturing
and administrative processes at our factories
in Dartford including: sheet metal fabrication,
powder coating, silk screen printing, surface
mount PCB assembly, conventional PCB assembly,
control panel assembly, packing/dispatch, stores
and office facilities.
Speaking after we were notified
that we would be recommended for registration,
Graham Talbot (Quality Manager) said “all
Kentec staff should take pride in this significant
achievement. The commitment from everyone has
been outstanding and we look forward to continuing
improvements in this area”.
ISO 14001 registration consolidates
Kentec’s commitment to implement management
systems that benefit both the business and staff
and compliments our existing ISO9001 Quality
Management and Investors In People registrations.
