Improved training resources

For a number of years we have been providing our customers with high quality free training, which supports our belief that well trained engineers in the field are good for business. In line with this we are pleased to announce that Roger Suckling has been promoted into the technical support department and is currently undergoing his own training before moving into a Product Training role. We will be announcing new training programmes in the near future.

LIOU - Multi Input/Output Unit (Lite Version)

The Kentec MIOU (Multiple Input Output Unit) has been available for more than 5 years. However for some applications this product has proven to be “over specified”. We have now developed a smaller, more competitive interface, the LIOU. The LIOU has 4 fully programmable relay outputs, each rated at 30V / 1A and 4 optically isolated programmable inputs. This unit is only supported on the Hochiki protocol Syncro and Syncro AS control panels.

Increased Surface Mount capability

To keep up with the increasing demand for Control Equipment and to ensure that the latest technology is in place for future developments a second Surface Mount line has been introduced.

The new machine is the latest development from Blakell Europlacer and compliments the current Europlacer machine, the Progress 6, which has been in use for the previous 6 years.

The new machine, the 'Vitesse2' combines all the requirements needed for a flexible manufacturer including intelligent feeder technology, large feeder count, on the fly vision, fast changeover and the ability to place over 20,000 components per hour.

This placement speed is achieved by twin placement turret heads, each head comprises 8 nozzles and an on the fly vision system for analysis of all components. The advanced vision technology eliminates the disparity in placement speeds which are common on most systems when leaded devices have to be analysed on a static camera.

The Vitesse2 is situated within a fully automated Production Line including on loader, screen-printing system, reflow oven and off loader.

This latest investment has enabled Kentec to increase their SMD throughput from 4,500 cph to 25,000 cph over two Production Lines.
