Syncro AS Lite

The Syncro AS Lite fully supports all devices from the leading, open protocol detector manufacturers and can be supplied with Apollo (S90/XP95/Discovery), Argus Security (Vega) or Hochiki (ESP) Loop drivers and offers a very cost effective solution for smaller stand-alone installations, with 16 zonal leds in-built and 400 mA of loop current for the most demanding applications.

The Syncro AS Lite does not support the following functionalities: Printer output, Networking, or the connection of Kentec’s 16 channel I/O boards, Relay boards, Sounder boards and conventional zone boards or the View repeater. If these are required the
Syncro AS should be selected. Both products carry a three years’ warranty from date of manufacture.

Focus on Kentec Syncro I/O Modules

This Month: The Conventional Zone Module S545

A conventional zone module allows the connection of multiple industry standard conventional detection devices to be directly monitored by a Syncro panel. This module is connected via the RS485 ‘comms’ expansion port, which is supplied as standard on all full Syncro and Syncro AS panels.
The module has four configurable and fully monitored detection zone inputs, two programmable conventional sounder outputs and a programmable fire and a fault contact, with default fail safe operation of the sounder circuits and fire relay should the communication with the Syncro be lost and a subsequent zone fire input be detected.
Up to 32 expansion cards can be connected up to 1200m away from each Syncro panel, giving a capability of up to 128 zones and 64 programmable sounder outputs.

Popular installation examples for this module include:

• To replace conventional panels on a site and to bring all the controls and indications of a site Fire System back to the Syncro panel. This would avoid the problems of panels locking up in a fire situation, which may be experienced when interlinking panels the conventional way.
• Alternatively take a longer-term view and use the module to replace old larger conventional zone panels with a Syncro and Zone modules, to create the beginning of conversion to Analogue Addressable with up to date technology rather than outdated conventional systems. Benefits would include Zonal text, ease of disablement and test features, cause and effect programming along with wiring benefits of Comms or Network Repeaters.

Returned Materials -
Authorisation Policy and Procedure

In the event that goods supplied are surplus to requirement, then provided they are unused and in their original packaging they may be returned to Kentec Electronics Ltd., for credit. However, it is essential that before any items are returned, the following procedure be undertaken:

1) Items shall only be accepted for credit following written approval with the Operations Manager or Directors of Kentec Electronics Ltd.

2) Please contact our Sales department for an RMA reference number before any items are returned to Kentec Electronics Ltd. This number must be used for all correspondence relating to the goods.

3) Written approval will then be issued, using a Goods Return Application Form (KENQA196.03-03). It is essential that a copy of this form is supplied with the returned goods and that the RMA reference number is clearly marked on the outer packaging when returning goods to the company. All goods returned for credit must be approved before receipt

4) Items may then be returned to our business address. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer and will not be accepted by Kentec Electronics Ltd.

5) Any items returned for credit will be tested and returned to a standard production condition. This may include the removal of any customer specific logo or other specific information. Any material and labour costs associated with this process may be deducted from the credit amount, at the discretion of the Managing Director.

6) Failure to supply the required information will result in the returned items being quarantined for a period not exceeding 60 days. If the items are not identified within 60 days of receipt, then Kentec Electronics Ltd reserves the right to dispose of these items.

Note:
This procedure applies to all products, however project specific “special build” panels may not be eligible for credit or will incur a handling charge to deconstruct the product to a useable state. This will be agreed at the time the RMA is agreed and written approval issued.
Defective materials returned for credit may also be subject to handling and repair charges.
