ENS400 POWER SUPPLY GETS
EN54-4 APPROVAL AND KITEMARK

Following extensive and rigorous testing to the demanding EN54-4 standard for fire alarm power supply equipment, we are pleased to announce that the ENS400, 4 Amp power supply and battery charger has been certified to EN54-4 by BSI and added to our Kitemark license.

The ENS400 is a switched mode, lightweight power supply and battery charger capable of charging sealed lead acid batteries with capacities up to 17Ah while supplying a 2.5A load.

Versions are available for connection to 230V or 110V 50/60Hz mains supplies and as either chassis mounting (ENS400) or boxed units with space for 17Ah batteries (ENK15400 01).

The ENS400 and ENK15400 01 have been developed from the original S400, (the power behind the industry leading Syncro range of analogue addressable fire alarm panels) which has been providing a reliable source of power in thousands of fire alarm installations for over four years.

All monitoring and control is supervised by a microcontroller running powerful and robust software to keep standby batteries in top condition throughout their service life.
Dedicated fault outputs which are protected against damage from over current or short circuit are provided to indicate mains fail, battery disconnected, battery low, earth fault and charge voltage too high.

The ENS400 and ENK15400 01 are suitable for all fire alarm applications including ancillary systems which need auxiliary power from an EN54-4 approved unit as required by BS 5839 : Part 1: 2002 clause 11.2g (system components).

The ENS400 and ENK15400 01 further enhance the range of EN54 approved products available from Kentec which now includes the Sigma II range of two and four wire conventional fire panels from two to eight zones and the complete Syncro range of analogue addressable fire panels and accessories with either Apollo or Hochiki ESP protocols.
